Just 5 1/2 miles from I-75, off exit 301, we are located in the "Tip of the Mitt" of the northern lower pennisula of Michigan.  Elkwood Campground is situated on 73 acres of rolling woodlands, meadows, and wetlands, on the edge of the scenic Pigeon River Country State Forest, home of Michigan's elk herd.  Site amenities range from pull-thrus with 30 amps & water to rustic, easily accommodating every size and type of camping unit. 

Relax by the 30x50 swimming pool, or take a walk in the woods to spy the elk, deer, turkeys, Blue Herons, and many other species of wildlife, including endangered wildflowers.  Enjoy the free weekend hayrides, or participate in our scheduled activities such as Family Survivor Weekend and the Glow Parades (see website for schedule).  Kids can have fun on the playground or Fun Bikes, and everyone can play basketball, volleyball, and horseshoes.  We are open year-round to serve hunters, snowmobilers, skiers, & snowshoers.  Showers for non-campers are available for $3.00.

The camp store carries groceries, ice, and other necessities, bait, toys and souvenirs, as well as maps and information on local attractions.  The rec room has a pool table, video arcade games, board games, toys, and a book exchange. 

The rental units consist of a 20' Travel Trailer and a 3 bedroom Mobile Home.
