Be sure to take note of these activities as you plan your summer trip to our area:

Ninilchik Halibut Derby:
From May 1st to August 31st the Ninilchik Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Ninilchik Halibut Derby.
Purchase a derby ticket (sold at our office) and earn prizes for the biggest halibut caught. Prizes are given for biggest weekly, monthly, and yearly catch. The grand prize is $2500! That would pay for your whole vacation!

Memorial Day Weekend Pancake Breakfast:
This annual fundraiser for the local Volunteer Emergency Services (Ambulance) provides funds for a great cause and also fills your tummy for those holiday fishing trips.
Join us at the fairgrounds in town each morning Sat., Sun. and Mon. until 2:00 PM for all-you-can-eat tasty pancakes, sausage and bacon.

Rubber Ducky Race:
On the summer solstice day (June 21st) we celebrate the longest day of the year with the annual Ninilchik Rubber Ducky Race, also sponsored by the Ninilchik Chamber of Commerce.
Purchase a numbered rubber duck and cheer it on as it races all the other ducks as they are dropped into the Ninilchik River. The first one down river wins the grand prize! It?s a great way to celebrate the longest day of the year.

Ninilchik Rodeo:
Come join us for the farthest north rodeo in the United States. Rootin? Tootin? cowboys and all the other events you would expect on a Wyoming ranch, just done Alaska style. Held at the fairgrounds in town the Fourth of July weekend, this annual event has food and fun for the entire family.

Kenai Peninsula State Fair:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the third weekend of August Ninilchik plays host for the premier event of the summer- the annual Kenai Peninsula State Fair. Rides, games, food, and livestock judging? all the fixin?s for a down-home style good time. Join us for the season finale get together and celebrate the end of the summer.
