Take day trips to the Pikes Peak region, Royal Gorge, Pueblo attractions and the Great Sand Dunes National Monument.  Visit Bishop's Castle, hike, bike, fish at Lakes Isabel or Beckwith and go four-wheeling in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.  Golfers can play Hollydot's championship 27- hole course, five minutes from the campground.
