ANTELOPE SLOT CANYON
Antelope Slot Canyon is a magical place. You will step into an amazing fantasy world of Navajo sandstone, a creation to explore. The famous light beams occur through the months of April to August. The tour begins in Page, Arizona with a 15-minute drive to the canyon entrance. Page is 70 miles from Kanab.

BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY
With never less than 1,500 animals, they welcome every lost winged and furry one along with those whose souls feel a kinship with the souls of the creatures. Best Friends is open seven days a week. The visitors center is approximately one mile from Highway 89, five minutes north of Kanab. Visit Dogtown, Catland, Feathered Friends, the Bunny House and the Horses.

BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK
Bryce Canyon National Park is situated atop the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The canyon has an abrupt drop from the rim exposing a dramatic 8,000-foot drop-off into a beautiful wide and colorful canyon. Bryce is 77 miles from Kanab. There are ranger-led programs, which include information on geology, history, flora, fauna, and the incredible night skies. Children's programs are conducted during the summer months.

CEDAR BREAKS
The rim of the canyon is over 10,000 feet above sea level, and is forested with islands of Englemann spruce, subalpine fir, and aspen. ATV riding and winter sports are abundant near Cedar Breaks. Cedar Breaks is 69 miles from Kanab.

CORAL PINK SAND DUNES
Play in the soft, fine red sand found only in this location. Only twelve miles from Kanab, the dunes offer off-highway vehicle riding, photography, and hiking. OHV's are allowed in the park with the exception of two areas: the nature trail/day use area and a 250-acre conservation area. If you want to ride an OHV in the dunes, it must be registered and equipped with a whip flag. All areas are open for foot travel.

CRESCENT MOON THEATER
Southern Utah's newest hit show "Side by Side" featuring Atlantic - Mercury Recording Artist Don Harrison and Margie Harrison. Don has world renowned records and tours with Creedence Clearwater Revival Band. Margie has toured with many of the great Nashville Country Artists. Together they make for an exciting night of entertainment.

DUCK CREEK
If you are an outdoor enthusiast, Duck Creek will satisfy your needs. They offer a wide variety of ATV or snowmobile trails and you can also enjoy cross-country skiing, hiking, fishing, or mountain bike riding. At an elevation of 8,400 feet, the scenery among the pines is fantastic. The trail system at Duck Creek is considered to be one of the best in the west. Navajo Lake is just four miles from Duck Creek village. Duck Creek is 40 miles from Kanab.

FRONTIER MOVIE TOWN
Frontier Movie Town is right here in Kanab. Step back in time for an "up close and personal" view of movie sets and memorabilia. On the back lot is a western town comprised of original and maintained sets from the movies Desperate Hours, One Little Indian, and Outlaw Josie Wales. You can sit on a bench from F Troop or gaze through the same gunport that Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. did in Sergeants Three.

GRAND CANYON
The Grand Canyon is a great chasm carved over millennia through the rocks of the Colorado Plateau. The awe-inspiring view provides a pleasuring ground for those who explore the roads, hike the trails, or float the currents of the turbulent Colorado River. Its beauty and size are humbling. You will find a solace from your hectic lives at the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon (North Rim) is 79 miles from Kanab.

LAKE POWELL
Sparkling, clear-blue water laps against towering, sheer red-rock canyon walls and sandy beaches. Lake Powell is the second largest man-made lake in the United States. It is 186 miles long and has 1,960 miles of shoreline. There are 96 major canyons to explore. Rent a boat or take a tour boat cruise from Wahweap marina to Rainbow Bridge. Lake Powell is 73 miles from Kanab.

MOQUI CAVE
Located 5 1/2 miles north of Kanab, on Highway 89, Moqui Cave is a world-class museum of Native American artifacts. Exhibits include more than 1000 arrowheads, ceremonial points, jugs, pots, bowls, and working tools of the Anasazi-Navajo. The cave features a fossil collection and one of the largest fluorescent mineral displays in the country. Indian arts and crafts can be purchased.

PIPE SPRING NATIONAL MONUMENT
This National Park is rich with American Indian, early explorer, and Mormon pioneer history. The monument is 21 miles from Kanab, southwest via Highway 89A and Arizona Highway 389. Tour Winsor Castle every half hour in the wintertime or have a "living history" tour during the summer where the rangers will bring historic pioneer and Indian traditions to life.

THE WAVE
The Wave is a tiny sandstone wash covering approximately one acre. The entire Wave is a striation of amazing colors. There is nothing else like it. It is the crown jewel of the North Coyote Buttes, part of the Paria-Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness Area. Permits are required to hike in the Wilderness and can be obtained from the Kanab Field Office of the BLM. The hike is six miles round trip. The Wave trailhead is about 40 miles from Kanab.

ZION MOUNTAIN TRAILRIDES
No experience necessary. Zion Mountain Trailrides has a trail for every rider and even offer ponies for the little cowboys and cowgirls. They are located 38 miles from Kanab and just two miles outside the east boundary of Zion National Park. Enjoy a ride inside the Buffalo Preserve or Ride up the Clear Creak Mountain. You might even pick up a buffalo burger for supper after the ride.

ZION NATIONAL PARK
If you're a hiking enthusiast, Zion is recommended. The trails vary from easy to very strenuous. Hiking in the park provides quiet solitude with breathtaking scenery. Popular trails include Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock, Angels Landing, Observation Point, Canyon Overlook, Taylor Creek, and the Narrows. Zion National Park is the oldest National Park in Utah. You can get to the east side of Zion from Mt. Carmel Junction on Highway 9. Or you can enter Zion's south entrance from Springdale. Zion National Park is 30 miles from Kanab.
