SUGGESTED DAY TRIPS FROM
THE GREEN OASIS CAMPGROUND

There are several interesting sites around the Green Oasis Campground.  Use the Green Oasis Campground as your "Base Camp" and see what the Bighorn Mountains and the Bighorn Basin has to offer!  To help facilitate this the Green Oasis Campground has daily, weekly, and monthly rates to help you see everything your heart desires!

SHELL CANYON
Take a day trip from the Green Oasis Campground going east along Highway 14 through the beautiful Bighorn Mountains.  Drive through Shell Canyon.  Stop at the Shell Falls Interpretive Site where you'll see the picturesque Shell Falls as it flows 3,600 gallons of water per second.  You'll be able to learn about the ancient fossil shells that give the Canyon and Falls their name.  Then drive through Granite Pass.   Look for many species of wildlife that make the scenic Bighorn Mountains their home.  Continue on to Burgess Junction where you'll turn onto Highway 14A towards Lovell.  You will come upon the Bighorn Medicine Wheel, a mysterious archeological site.  Continue on to Lovell.  Turn onto Highway 310 back to Highway 16-20 to the Green Oasis Campground.

BIGHORN CANYON
Another day trip takes you from the Green Oasis Campground to Lovell on Highway 310 where you can stop and see the Bighorn Canyon Visitor Center where you can obtain information about the Bighorn Canyon area.  Then continue following signs to the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area.  When within the Area stop at Horseshoe Bend and the Devil Canyon Overlook where you'll be able to view part of the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range.   You might just be lucky enough to get to see some of the wild horse herd.   Don't forget to be looking for other members of Wyoming's Wildlife.  After a day of exploring the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area you'll return to the Green Oasis Campground using Highway 310.

HOT SPRINGS STATE PARK
Take a day to see the Hot Springs State Park, leave the Green Oasis Campground going South on Highway 20 through Worland to Thermopolis.  There you will find the World's Largest Hot Springs.  Take a few hours to enjoy the scenic hot springs, terraces, and the swinging bridge across the Bighorn River.  Then swim, slide, and soak in the warm mineral water.  Afterwards take a drive through the park and see the Buffalo herd.   If time allows, drive through the Wind River Canyon which is south of Thermopolis.   After such a relaxing day you'll find yourself driving back up Highway 20 to the Green Oasis Campground.
