Saratoga, elevation 6,792 feet, is nestled among cattle ranches in the Upper North Platte River Valley, east of the Continental Divide. Flanked by the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range Mountains, Saratoga sits on the banks of the North Platte River. Prehistoric volcanic activity left the town with a beautiful mineral hot springs pool, free and open 24 hours a day, year round.
Abundant wildlife live in the area. The North Platte is a Blue Ribbon trout river alive with activity in the summer and fall. Big game hunting begins in September, including antelope, deer, elk, moose, and black bear. Blue grouse, sage grouse, dove, duck and goose hunting also begins in the fall.

Whitewater and scenic rafting are popular sports throughout the spring and summer. Or visit the annual Festival of the Arts during the town's 4th of July celebrations.
The Snowy Range Scenic Byway, Hwy 130, was designated as the second National Forest Scenic Byway in the United States in 1988. Open from Memorial Day through October, weather permitting, the drive is must for visitors as well as locals. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Lake Marie atop of the Snowy Range for an enjoyable, and breathtaking day-trip. Hiking trails will lead you to the very top of this spectacular location.
Visit the Saratoga Museum for a peek back at Saratoga's wild west history. Stroll along main street for an enjoyable shopping experience, followed by lunch at one of the town's excellent restaurants.
