Cedar Cove is 2.5 miles from Elephant Butte Lake, the largest lake in New Mexico. Elephant Butte is wonderful for boating, sailing, skiing; fishing for Black Bass, Striper, Catfish, Smallmouth, and Blue Gill. The city of Elephant Butte has restaurants, gas stations, hotel and the nearby town of Truth or Consequences (5 miles away)has many more restaurants, fast food establishments, museums, hot mineral bath/spas, art galleries, and various shops. We also have fishing on the Rio Grande River below the Elephant Butte Dam for trout. Numerous historic villages surround the area with museums and each has their own special charm. The Gila National Forest is 45 minutes away.
